Body Comp Part Deux

Goals for this week were/are too get all my work outs in, and eat healthy. So far not terrible.

Monday I had a 3 mile walk with Iron Woman. It was a slow one as she was also on call and we had to stop a few times for her to answer a few pages.
Tuesday I had a rest day because I got a massage instead. It was MUCH needed.
Today I did upper body...which in hindsight....not my best idea. As a massage therapist I tell my clients "Rest for 24 hours before exercising again. IF you HAVE to workout...keep it light." I remembered this on my drive home as my upper traps started to burn. Wooo! Blood flow! Weee! Lactic acid!

Thursday will be yoga. Friday will be leg day. Saturday will be a 3 mile run. Sunday I will probably circuit train.

I started cutting out the meal between breakfast and lunch. I am aiming for a caloric deficit with my intake and output. Nothing major, but I would like to start cutting some fat. My aim is to continue this practice for another 3 weeks.
Also...I'm gonna try something new...instead of a cheat meal or cheat day once a week, I think I am going to have 1 small treat a day. For instance tonight I had about 2 tbsp of enjoy life chocolate chips.

Still doing pretty good with not weighing myself. I cut back from every day to once a week. At last check I was maintaining. Which isn't bad as I am trying to change my body shape, not my weight.

Which leads me to Body Comp Part Deux: Motivation. Dedication & Patience.

It seems funny that a blog called Moving Mountains Motivation would poo-poo motivation. The truth is that motivation is great...but more often than not we have to create our own.
I think we all wish to feel like we want to eat clean 100% of the time. We want to feel like we want to go to the gym 100% of the time.

However, motivation can be talking yourself into a workout when all you really want to do is go home and veg. Motivation is remembering why you're eating broccoli instead of heaping amounts of pasta, even though you don't want too. Motivation is knowing your health is suffering, you're not where you want to be so you're going to muster up some dedication and just slug at it.
Motivation can be happy and fun, but it can also be gritty and raw.

Sometimes we have to find motivation instead of letting it find us. I have a pinterest board for just that. I like to look at quotes and pictures when I feel like giving in to unhealthy habits. It reaffirms me of my goals and my "why".

I don't want to have to take medication for diabetes when I get older, due to my PCOS. I don't want my doctors to be concerned for my heart health, due to my PCOS. I want my hormones to be in a lovely balance. Sure...calves that you could bounce a quarter off of would be fantastic, but if that doesn't happen. That's fine. It's not my main goal.
Don't be fooled though...you will always see striving towards greatness.

Talk to any body builder, lifter, runner, yogi, they will tell you that their success didn't come over night, or even in a few months.

If you want to lose weight and look skinny, great! You do you, but do you want to be healthy and run 5 miles? Do you want to chase your grand-kids up and down stairs without being winded? Do you want to be taken off of your high blood pressure medicine? I'm pleading with you to redefine your idea of healthy.
Some people are naturally thin, some people are naturally heavier, I'm NOT telling you that my goals should be your goals. I'm telling you what it takes day in and day out to achieve your goals.
I believe you in.

Also, this is real life. We're not paid athletes...at least...I'm not...yet! LOL...j/k...no one would hire me to do promos for Nike.

Famous body builders are PAID, P.A.I.D, PAID MONEY, to do what they do. At last check, I was working towards fattening my 401k while trying to pay down debt, get a new roof put on the house, AND get my dog-o to the vet.
I'm not paid to get negative splits on the track every night...although...what beautiful sweet magic of hard work that would be.

I digress...per my usual.

Remember your why. Find motivation, especially when it won't find you. Don't forget- it takes time!

Alright everyone...I am off to pray, sleep, and then slay another day!

Oh! Lastly, if you are interested in a cutting diet...aka, losing body fat, check out this awesome link I found on Get Fit, Go Figure.
