I'm having what some might call...an 'uggo' day. Totally ugly. Or least I feel that way.
I've always had really bad skin. It's not a secret, obviously, as I have been literally wearing the terms and conditions of PCOS on my face.
The truth is that everyone associates beauty with a number on a scale, clear tan skin, muscles, a small waist size. Did you notice how in yesterday's post I gave you 50 reasons to eat clean and exercise, but not once did I mention any of the above "rules" to be associated with beauty? Just health.
I think it's high time we have a definition change of what beauty really means, and how we talk about each other as a species. I admit, I am totally guilty of it. In fact most days, I don't walk in the Spirit of doing and saying what's right. I have a fight with my tongue about gossiping all the time. I hate gossiping! It's a useless tool used to fill idle time. It gets us started on a the Hate Train of Haters United and it's often hard to get off at the next station.
Well, I'm turning in my ticket today. And not only am I going to stop talking about others. I am going to stop talking negatively about myself! (okay, okay I am going to try to stop talking about myself & others. I have found it a lot easier in the last two years not to talk about others then about myself though.)
Because trust me, there isn't a boob job, acne treatment, or pill you can take to hide an ugly soul.
Define You! Define what you think beauty means!
I think beauty is someone who can in the face of stress and chaos still rise above everything that is happening to them. Beauty to me is strength. That's probably why I've concentrated more on my muscles then on my face ;)
Beauty to me is someone who has total confidence and is unapologetic about how they look. Someone who owns their body with grace and is at peace with themselves.
Beauty is many things! But it has to come from within, realizing this is the hardest part. Tell yourself everyday that you are beautiful. That you love your body. The healthy habits will develope more and you will thank yourself more when you can get your mind in on the game too. I have acne, but it doesn't define my worth. I will continue to seek out how to get rid of it, but I shall do my best every day, to not let it make me feel less than I really am.
This is a journey about becoming FIT and HEALTHY not at all about defining your beauty. I imgaine that you 'Rock You' pretty well!
Your beauty comes from within.

Your beauty comes from within.
3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Peter 3:3-4
